At the start of 2026, we shared our plans to give back more to the local community by committing time each month to support good causes across the areas we serve.
Last weekend was another great example of that commitment being put into action.
Members of the DCM Autocentres team from both our Shaftesbury and Blandford branches gave up part of their Saturday to help out at Pimperne Sports Club ahead of the busy half term period.
Helping get the club ready
The team spent the day carrying out a range of jobs around the clubhouse and surrounding areas, helping make sure everything was looking its best before the upcoming football fixtures and half term activities.
From weeding and sweeping to hedge cutting and window cleaning, everyone got stuck in and worked hard to help improve the space for players, families and visitors using the club over the coming weeks.
It might not have involved tyres or MOTs, but it was still about supporting the people and communities around us.
Continuing our community initiative
Earlier this year, we announced that members of our management team would be dedicating one day every month to local volunteering and community projects.
That initiative came from a simple belief that businesses should play an active role in supporting the areas they’re part of, not just operate within them.
Since then, it’s been great to see that attitude reflected across the wider DCM team as well, with staff willingly giving up their own time to help local organisations where they can.
More than just a workplace
One of the things we’re most proud of at DCM Autocentres is the culture within the team.
Whether it’s helping customers during difficult weather conditions, supporting local charities or volunteering on weekends, there’s a genuine willingness from people across the business to step up and help out when needed.
Seeing staff from both our Shaftesbury and Blandford branches come together on a Saturday to support a local sports club says a lot about the kind of people we have within the business.
Supporting local clubs and organisations
Local sports clubs like Pimperne Sports Club play a huge role within the community. They provide opportunities for young people, bring families together and create spaces where communities can connect.
We were more than happy to lend a hand and help get everything ready ahead of what will hopefully be a busy and successful half term for the club.
We’d also like to wish everyone at Pimperne Sports Club and Pimperne Youth FC the very best of luck for their upcoming games.
Looking ahead
Our community initiative was never intended to be a one-off project. It’s something we want to continue building throughout 2026 and beyond.
As DCM Autocentres continues to grow across Shaftesbury, Blandford and now further afield, maintaining strong links with the local community will always remain important to us.
We’re looking forward to supporting many more local organisations, clubs and causes in the months ahead.
