As Christmas approaches and the season of giving begins, we’ve been thinking a lot about what “giving” really means. Goodwill shouldn’t be something that only happens for a couple of weeks in December, and this year we’ve decided to take that idea to heart. Instead of limiting the festive spirit to one season, we’re choosing to carry it with us throughout the whole of 2026.

Our management team has agreed to dedicate one full day every month next year to help local organisations, charities and community spaces.

We know that many community groups work incredibly hard on limited budgets and short staffing. A few pairs of extra hands can make such a difference, even for the small jobs that never quite make it to the top of the priority list. That’s where we come in.

Whether it’s a nursing home garden that needs tidying, a fence that needs painting, a dog shelter that could use some walkers or a community hall that needs clearing, we’re ready to roll up our sleeves. Between us, we have years of hands-on experience, a van to transport tools or equipment, and a team who genuinely enjoy getting stuck in. Some of us are even stronger than we look, although we’ll let you be the judge of that when we get there.

What matters most to us is supporting the people and places that support others. Dorset has given us so much over the years, and this feels like the right moment to return the favour. By setting aside regular time every month, we hope to create a lasting and reliable source of help for groups who need it.

2026 is going to be a busy year, but it’s going to be a special one too. We’re excited to get out into the community, meet new people and hopefully make a real difference.
